Response to Genocide

There lacked a response internationally to the Rwandan Genocide. There was not much governmental involvement towards the genocide. Many countries did not want to get involved because it seemed to have nothing to do with them. For the U.S especially, it did not do everything in its power to help Rwanda during or after their mass tragedy. The US evacuated all government and all US foreign personal once the fightings began. They took help away rather than lending a hand. It was not until years after when Bill Clinton finally apologized and explained that he "did not act quickly enough after the killing began" in his 1998 address in Rwanda.
But there were efforts from non-profit and non governmental organizations such as World Visions. They provided aid to displaced people, helped them resettle, cared for children whose parents had died, and did their part in helping Rwanda during this tragedy.
